Job Description
  • Physical
  • The Staff Development Educator plans, implements, and evaluates education and education courses, including orientation utilizing the continuous quality improvement process. The educator is a professional nurse directly responsible for providing education to staff of the hospital and provides teaching in a manner that reflects that philosophy, goals, and objectives of the medical center. They coordinate education opportunities for nursing and clinical areas as well as serve as a resource for the educational needs of others in the organization and community.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience
  • Normal hospital environment. Exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Lifting up to 100 lbs. Carrying up to 40 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 350 lbs. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Education
  • Skill and proficiency in applying the principles, concepts, and techniques, which are central to the nursing profession. Knowledge of human growth and development necessary for assessment, range of treatment and core of patients appropriate to the patient’s age. Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Must be licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the state where practicing. Baccalaureate degree required.
  • Two years clinical experience preferred with consideration given to previous education experience, documented expertise in practice area. Knowledge of hospital and department policies and procedures, patient care procedures; ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.
