In this position. the Staff Accountant is responsible for all financial aspects of the operating company and for establishing the proper control environment. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Additional responsibilities include reconciling general ledger activity, preparing reports, analyzing cost trends, and assisting management with various ad-hoc financial queries. Provides financial accounting support to the organization through preparation of month-end financial information.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Prepare & review gross margin reports.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Support budget and forecasting activities as needed.
  • Acts as liaison between outsourced accounting services provider and fills gaps in responsibilities to include: Customer past due payment reminders, bad debt write-offs, statutory reporting/sales tax updates, and assist with problem resolution on transaction processing.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
  • Investigate and report on job costing and inventory valuation.
  • Assist with audits and other information requests.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all weekly and monthly financial information.


Education Requirements


  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA license preferred.


Skills, Knowledge, And/or Experience


  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an Accountant.
  • Visual by Infor knowledge is a PLUS.
  • Familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Requires a strong working knowledge of Excel and ERP systems.
  • GAAP: 3 years (Required)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
