Position Summary

The Senior Specialist, IT Laboratory and Quality Systems, in the Devens Digital Plant organization will be working to support, enhance, and maintain benchtop instrumentation as well as site and global applications used within the development, quality, manufacturing organizations. This position requires a passion for Information technology and innovation. Project management and business analyst skillsets would be valuable within the role as the position requires the ability to work with diverse cross-functional teams in a highly matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and enhancements for the administration of benchtop instrumentation applications, PC hardware, and IT administrative tools within the non GxP and GxP environments. Support would encompass various instrument types such as; ViCell, SoloVPE, Cary60, and Spectramax plate readers throughout the Devens biologics campus.
  • Support PC (imaging, deployment, and decommissioning) and peripheral configurations.
  • Knowledge of application software such as Waters’ Empower, operating system backup tools such as Acronis, electronic script execution such as HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and ticket management software such as ServiceNow, with a desire to learn new and emerging technology.
  • Assists with project planning executing as a key contributor to projects.
  • Execute and update documentation for the support of benchtop equipment and applications to ensure assets are reliable, accessible, and secure.
  • Provide ownership of assets and utilize BMS systems to support changes, incidents, problems, and asset management activities for the support of benchtop equipment in laboratory and manufacturing.
  • Liaison with global partners and internal site departments within BMS to align on solutions, implementation plans, and support structure for benchtop instrumentation and configurations, executing on technology improvements and efficiency opportunities to improve business and compliance.
  • Liaison with local and enterprise teams to complete integration activities, networking, and firewall rules as required.
  • Execute on technology improvements and efficiency opportunities to improve business and compliance.
  • Provide on-call support, as needed, for 24/7 commercial operations.
  • Ensure alignment with BMS directives and industry guidelines for applications.

Qualifications & Experience

  • BS degree in life sciences, engineering, or computer science field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to support communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team contributor with project management and technical writing skills preferred.
  • The ability to understand business requirements to support planning and leading small and medium size projects applying operational excellence principles.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with expanding knowledge of active directory, networking, Windows OS, Linux, Microsoft SQL, and PostgreSQL in regulated industries such as Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Devices setting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of high-quality IT Support ensuring end user requirements are met while maintaining network, operational, and cyber security standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • The successful candidate will possess the professionalism and technical competency required to represent the department before stakeholders and management.
  • The candidate needs to be self-driven and capable of self-prioritizing.
