The Senior Quality Engineer (Sr. QE) will with minimum guidance support activities during the overall product life cycle of the production platforms. The Sr. QE will provide Quality Assurance (QA) support and oversight (including approval) for product transfers, improvement projects, change requests, quality issue resolution, CAPAs, process control, validations and low to medium risk e-compliance approvals in Johns Creek, GA location.
A typical day will include:
  • Assure there are adequate products and process controls in place for identified CTQ’s. Will complete GAP analysis against local, global, and industry standards. Will support under minimal guidance the development of the quality system through GAP analysis results. Uses various statistical and non-statistical problem-solving tools as part of analysis.
  • Provide Quality assurance input and guidance on proposed product, process, and document changes. Prepare, develop, and review SOP changes, review and approve validation documents, memos, reports, site risk assessments and other documentation in accordance with Alcon Quality Manual. Provide oversight and approvals on site validations, validation documents, and low to medium risk level e-compliance changes
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives related to quality systems and process control infrastructure to ensure continued sustainability of manufacturing operations and products.
  • Investigate, review and approve CAPA process records, while providing guidance and input on the investigation strategy, corrective actions, and proposed preventive actions associated with each record. Track and trend NCI and CAPA data using various statistical tools as part of the analysis
  • Support and promote improvement activities to lean the process through alignment of procedures reduction of waste, and a review of process with various statistical and non-statistical problem-solving tools as part of analysis. Responsible for the initiation and leadership of small capital project of low risk or high capital/high risk projects under guidance.
  • Provide Quality Assurance support and guidance on proposed product, process, and document changes. Actively participate in routine platform-based meetings. Uses various statistical and non[1]statistical problem-solving tools as part of analysis.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)

Preferred
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry manufacturing environment related to Quality Systems, Validation and/or product transfer activities, suppler quality, Operations Excellence or other sustainable improvement programs designed to promote long term organizational culture change.
  • B.S. or higher in Physical Science or Engineering; Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
