Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Quality Engineer in Columbia, SC! The Quality Engineer will effectively administer the Quality Management System in accordance with current procedures and work instructions, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Support operations when quality issues arise to maintain production. Support the manufacturing assembly and test cells to maximize product quality and reliability.
• Drives engineering principles and discipline through mentoring, training and project reviews including: PFMEA, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Dynamic Control Plans (DCP), Lean Tools, Project Management and Simultaneous Engineering
• Participate and lead internal audits
• Develop ELC and Control Plan for NPD/Engineering projects
• Reduce customer DPPM and warranty costs, through engagement of engineering, operations, purchasing and customer service. Investigate root causes and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues. Leverage common problem solving tools (9 Step, 8D, A3)
• Administer the deviation process
• Manage the rejection process for manufactured product and supplied components
• Determine and execute continuous improvement opportunities

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Lean, 5 Why's, 9 Step, 8D, A3, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must
• 2+ years Engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, preferred.
• Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Ability to communicate at all levels within business and with suppliers, etc.

Base Pay Range: $70,000-$95,000.
