Sr. Project Manager Jobs

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of client engagements. Individuals in this role must effectively partner with internal project team members, client stakeholders, and senior management to ensure the strategic goals and objectives of the project(s) are understood, met, and deliver the desired business outcomes. In addition, they direct the daily activities of team members on multiple projects and ensure a commitment to excellence in delivery in all facets of their role.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent time-management and problem-solving abilities who thrives working in teams in a fast-paced environment. They are passionate about technology and partnering with clients to understand and deliver on their needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the approval process with stakeholders
• Communicate with clients, serving as the primary contact with clients to manage client expectations while also nurturing the relationship
• Track multiple projects and their deliverables, possibly across multiple clients
• Coordinate with internal teams to identify and allocate the necessary resources for each project
• Work with the project team to identify project risks, plan for risk response and mitigation, and proactively monitor project risks and resolutions
• Serve as scrum master to a mature technical team, working closely with the product owner to ensure the backlog is well formed and stories align with the client’s desired scope and timing needs
• Plan and measure team’s delivery capacity, using tools available within Jira to estimate stories, track burndown, and measure velocity.
• Draft estimates for work and client contracts (statement of work, change orders, etc), in collaboration with the management team
• Execute projects within the intended scope, timeframe, and budget
• Generate and monitor data-driven project metrics to set and manage the performance of the project based on cost, resource, schedule, quality, and other measurable dimensions
• Provide leadership and coordination to team members who perform a wide range of functions related to the design and implementation of IT services
• Track and communicate project status to project team members, as well as presentation to clients and internal leadership
• Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, including, but not limited to, project plan creation, project kickoffs, and agile ceremonies (if applicable), handling timeline, budget, invoicing, and deliverables
• Obtain and maintain knowledge of the product being built and related systems so that you have the ability to provide insights, contribute thoughtfully to discussions, act as an intermediary between technical teams, ensure client objectives are being met and planned for, and/or make necessary recommendations
• Partner with business and technology team members to facilitate decision-making, understand project trade-offs and ensure the successful delivery of projects

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Extensive experience serving as a project manager on custom development projects (customization of a SaaS product does not apply)
• Ability to meet deadlines; manage multiple tasks simultaneously and create and maintain documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing and leading the delivery of software development-, design- or strategy-based programs, and developing the related project plans
• Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others to achieve desired results.
• Experience with Pega strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain professional poise and comfort with leading discussions with client decision-makers, end-users, and IT professionals
• Experience in Healthcare and Life Sciences a plus
• Ability to manage a variety of technology projects, possibly ranging from websites to mobile apps, and/or enterprise software
• Ability to manage project finances, report on usage and project forecasted spend
• Ability and desire to maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices
• Excellent project management skills, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
• Instinctive qualities of accountability and follow-through
• Consulting/Agency experience strongly preferred
• Proficient in software and project management tools, i.e. Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office
• Experience managing different types of project budgets - fixed bid, time and material, SLAs, etc
• Ability to work effectively with various teams of different backgrounds and - geographically dispersed teams
• Proven experience in both Traditional and Agile (Scrum) methodologies
• 7-10+ years of relevant work experience in IT Consulting and/or software development
