Medtronic Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is currently looking for a Sr Principal Product Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for our therapy’s Mobile Platform.  This position will a hybrid role with the expectation of being onsite in Rice Creek, Minnesota three days a week.
 
A Day in the Life
 
As a Sr Principal Product Systems Engineer, you will be the technical leader for our therapy’s Handsets and Tablets Systems and their accessories. To be this successful Portfolio Product/Systems Engineer for this complex platform requires an in-depth knowledge of system knowledge, architecture, requirements; as software applications, hardware, labeling, packaging, and COTS products work together in the ever-changing customer environment (security, Global Expansion, new use cases, regulatory changes). This role requires a Sr Principal Product Engineer to lead technical strategy for new product introduction, while also address field issues and editing current field devices architecture by understanding customer use across all therapies, changing regulations and standards across the world. 
 
This role requires great communication and project/team leadership skills to navigate these different therapies through change control process for success launches of the mobile platform devices. As the technical leader of this diverse team that is in different time zones, this role requires teaching of master level knowledge of system engineering for external devices, their impact to the therapy and business to other Mobile Platform engineers both within and outside of released product engineering.
 
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 
 

• Analyze, update, and maintain Neuromodulation systems and features that meet the expectations and uses of the customer, regulatory agencies, and the business.
• Provide product engineering skills to troubleshoot (debug), test methods, procedures, specifications, requirements, and problems for Mobile Platform devices (applications, hardware, batteries).
• Oversee strategy for analyze returns, suppliers, and complaints from the field to determine failure mode and propose engineering solutions while working within constraints and optimizing cost.
• Leadership in understanding and improving quality procedures, policy, and system.  Ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
• Effective technical team leader of a cross-functional team including software, security, hardware, COTS/3^rd party suppliers, labeling/packaging, customer service, and marketing functions.
• Foster an environment of collaboration and inclusion with cross-functional team members.
• < 10% travel
• Execute projects within the constraints of budget, timeline, resources, and project performance requirements. 
• Provide technical solutions and strategy to a wide range of complex problems.
• Communication and document tradeoffs, rationale, and potential solutions to Mobile Platform problems to vast cross-functional team.
• Contribute, mentor, and build domain knowledge around neuromodulation mobile platform portfolio of systems device for both released and future systems.
