The Role


Sr. Platform Engineer - Software Infrastructure. Dyno’s software platform is at the heart of Dyno’s business, and your work as a part of this team can have a major impact on the future of gene therapy. Our team is responsible for defining how Dyno leverages cloud platforms and software tools and frameworks to execute cutting edge scientific and operational objectives. We apply knowledge from industry leaders in the tech sector in creative and unique ways to build a high performing, reliable modern biotech research and development platform.

How You Will Contribute


As a Sr. Platform Engineer on the Software Infrastructure team, you will take a major role in architecting and developing our cloud infrastructure and software development tools. You will collaborate with Software Engineers, ML Researchers & Engineers, Data Scientists, and Computational Biologists to improve and own our Software Platform infrastructure. You will contribute directly to shaping company wide strategy for how we execute on our infrastructure goals.


Responsibilities


  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to solve engineering challenges in highly distributed systems.
  • Develop and demonstrate software engineering best practices, including continuous integration, site reliability principles and test driven design.
  • Drive improvements to our Software Development Life Cycle systems and processes, to include CI/CD, Codebase Management and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Propose and execute software engineering and process improvement projects within an engineering team on a quarter-to-quarter horizon.
  • Keep up to date with the latest cloud and software infrastructure trends and apply them to their best impact.
  • Consult with Engineers and Scientists on how to properly leverage cloud and software technologies.
  • Help define and implement the technical vision for how we utilize cloud technologies at Dyno.
  • Work to identify and implement Information Security best-practices within our Platform systems.

Basic Qualifications


  • Experience with deploying software platforms on cloud-based platforms (GCP or AWS).
  • BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related with 3+ years of platform engineering experience in industry.
  • Experience with CI/CD frameworks.
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • Expertise in Python and SQL.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience deploying CI/CD tools like Argo CD, Spinnaker, Terraform Cloud.
  • Experience with distributed data processing, ML and Jupyter notebooks within a research and development environment.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in software development, including distributed computing, cloud infrastructure and data warehousing.
  • Experience maintaining a Python codebase and frameworks like Poetry, Bazel, etc.
