Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for ongoing research projects and custom projects with a focus on research design, sampling, statistical analysis/data modeling and communicating insights. Manages survey research in consulting or end-client environment. Performs quantitative analysis and conducts advanced data analytics. Analyze data using statistical techniques and software to effectively communicate trends and patterns. Contribute to the development of new research protocols.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develops survey instruments, guidelines and procedures to collect required data using an advanced knowledge of research methodology and techniques, sampling methodology and data analysis requirements.

2. Analyzes data using appropriate statistical techniques and software (R or SPSS) and effectively communicate trends and patterns to translate data into meaningful insights.

3. Write research reports and presentations that present research findings clearly and appropriately for intended audience/stakeholders.

4. Conducts and analyze qualitative research.

5. Builds intuitive, impactful and insightful data visualizations.

6. Evaluates data quality, design and implement processes to ensure quality.

7. Contributes to the development of new research protocols; ensure that study data and systems are maintained and accurately documented.

8. Manage complex research projects.

9. Performs other related responsibilities as required.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; emphasis in Marketing, Marketing Research, I/O Psychology, Social Psychology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics or related field. Six years of progressively responsible experience working in a statistically oriented research field, such as survey research, database analysis or actuarial research. Master’s degree in one of the fields described above with four years of progressively responsible experience with hands-on responsibilities designing and managing survey research in a consulting or end-client environment is preferred. Experience performing quantitative analyses and conducting advanced data analytics (e.g. multivariate statistics, conjoint analysis, cluster analysis, forecasting). Experience with data analysis software (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata). Experience planning, conducting and analyzing qualitative research (focus groups, one-on-one interviews). Experience creating surveys and focus group screeners. Experience communicating effectively in writing and in presentations to technical and non-technical partners and audiences. Experience in a public agency or public transit industry is a plus. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
