Job Description

The Sr. Director, Logistics has the overall responsibility for inbound and outbound transportation, customs operations, warehousing and distributor order processing. S/he will also manage our 3PL network of regional Distribution Centers and related transportation, ensuring premium service at a stable cost.

With the implementation of US production plant(s), the Sr. Director, Logistics will also contribute to the transition of the current logistic and transportation network to a future state model to match the new production footprint. This individual will ensure RBNA has the right logistic network, transportation team and related infrastructure while also analyzing and making recommendations to ensure the highest quality of delivery at an optimized cost. In addition, this individual will support the Sales and Distribution teams in network distribution projects and manage ad hoc projects


WAREHOUSING SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and challenge the current 3PL to ensure perfect execution of the operations at a stable cost.
  • Manage and implement network design and optimization to ensure consistency with the business needs, providing inbounds/outbounds and stock projections, overflow strategy and costs associated.
  • Support strategic logistic network evolution to integrate the local production plant and distribution center in the network.
  • Support business in projects like specific packaging / customer requirements by providing relevant solutions at a reasonable cost.


TRANSPORTATION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure key service metrics are above target and costs are within budget.
  • Build transportation strategy in collaboration with 3PL, challenging subcontractors portfolio, cost and quality of execution.
  • Evaluate options for and potentially implement in-house transportation management, including team, tools and processes, and transition smoothly from current organization.


IMPORT SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stay abreast of state and local regulations to ensure compliance of RBNA’s import operations.
  • Responsible for monitoring inbound transportation costs from US ports to RBNA distribution centers; identify gaps vs budget, drive root cause analysis, implement action plan and challenge 3PL.


COMPLIANCE

  • If applicable, develop processes that are in compliance with new regulations.
  • Perform post entry audit reviews.
  • Ensure full compliance with US Customs and FDA regulations regarding warehousing and transportation of our products and oversight of related programs (e.g. CTPAT & FSMA).


CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the Logistics/Supply Chain point of contact with the customers and distributors, ensure smooth relationship and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Support SKU portfolio strategy by managing ins and outs, substitutions, consumer activations specific SKUs.
  • Drive efficiency and optimizations to maximize FTL, mitigate impact of case pick and specific packaging and all additional costs.


OPERATING BUDGET AND LOGISTICS ANALYSIS

  • Ad hoc logistics projects as assigned.
  • Prepare and implement analyses and modeling which identify inefficiencies and areas of growth with respect to our distribution network.
  • Benchmark operations and adopt as necessary
  • Provide annual and monthly operating budget plans, analysis and reconciliation to Finance.
  • Partner with Sales & Distribution Teams by providing network analysis, costs and recommendations.


PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Adapt team structure and resources to support the evolution of the logistic and transportation network and organization, tools and processes.
  • Foster and develop strong partner relationships with logistics partner in inbound/outbound carrier development.
  • Foster collaborative and engaged relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners.
  • Drive “One Company” mindset, customer service oriented.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members and managing performance.
