Sr. Claims Representative (Third Party)

Hybrid – Hudson, OH (Open to fully remote in EST time zones – on-site training required)

*Insurance Adjuster License Preferred (Will eventually be required)

Job Summary:

Our Client is currently seeking qualified candidates to work virtually or at our corporate office, for the following position: Senior Claims Specialist. The Sr. Claims Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of client accident claims from assignment through completion. The Sr. Claims Specialist typically manages 3rd party claims, including repair and rental management, claimant communication, and client communication. Confirms coverage and liability are properly in order prior to assisting 3rd party customers with repairs and/or rental and proactively works with client. Provides operational input and guidance as needed to teammate and works with the Claims Supervisor and Claims Manager to ensure client and customer parameters and expectations are consistently met by the team.


Qualifications:

  • Or Minimum 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior automotive, fleet management, claims management, and vehicle re-marketing experience strongly preferred. 3rd Party claims management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure excellent internal and external customer service.
  • LICENSING: Ability to obtain and maintain insurance/adjuster licensing as required in all states.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write and interpret reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from department, company, groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • TECHNICAL SKILLS: Ability to use computer to access e-mail and the internet. Basic skills in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates dependability, punctuality, and excellent attendance.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly motivated, strong initiative, self-starter with team focus.
  • Strong investigative and organizational skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Run, interpret and recommend action from available reporting.
  • Direct personnel or human resource issues or topics to the appropriate supervisor and/or manager.
  • Assist leadership in departmental and individual claims rep training.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, team, peers and leadership through written, verbal and in-person means.
  • Reviews and sends loss notices to clients and carriers per client parameters.
  • Other additional duties and responsibilities as requested by Claims Supervisor and/or Claims Manager.
  • Coordinate and balance workload within a defined sub-team.
  • Manage rental reservation and rental process within specific claims in accordance with client parameters and customer needs.
  • Enters documentation including, but not limited to, claim notes, estimates, photos, and correspondence into claims management system.
  • Investigate liability for client accidents and make appropriate decisions based on results of investigation, applicable laws, statutes and jurisdictions.
  • Secure documentation on repairs, including reasons for delays, and actively manage the repair process for clients and customers.
  • Answers claim calls and questions from clients, leadership, and office staff.
  • Participate in Client Review Meetings as required.
  • Evaluate, negotiate and settle liability bodily injury claims with claimants and/or attorneys.
