Standard Job Title: Sr. Budget Manager
Estimated Start Date: September 15th, 2023.
Overview
We are looking to add a Finance Rock Star as a valued member of our Microsoft Engagement Team.At a high level, responsibilities include:
Strategic Budget/Finance Consultation
- Drive budget related communications to client, including but not limited to the preparation and presentation of monthly budget updates, monthly email updates to leadership team, etc.
- Drive quarterly budget forecasting process for client.
- Manage relationships with key clients/stakeholders, manage outstanding items/deliverables.
- Work with MSFT Finance, budget owners and LT to maintain a clear picture of overall budget status.
- Develop/maintain customized budget reports (Power BI/Pivot, Dashboarding, Financial Modeling).Maintain client budget trackers.
- Serve as liaison between Marketing and MSFT Finance teams.
Budget Operations Management
- Review monthly invoicing to ensure it matches forecasted delivery.
- Ensure expense reclasses/accruals are completed as necessary.
- Re-allocate budget as needed.
- Auditing of existing programs.
- Work with FTEs/vendors to ensure the invoicing of completed projects in a timely manner.
- Manage budget transfer requests between teams.
- Review status of current POs.
- General management/maintenance activities using MSFT internal budget tools.
Desired Skillset
- Produce high quality work, while managing multiple simultaneous deadlines.
- Communications skillset (both in person & written, including presentations).
- Power BI.
- Ability to work both as a member of a team & independently.
Previous Professional Experience
- Previous MSFT experience a plus but not required.
Required Degree or Certification
- BA in Business with and emphasis in Finance and 3+ years’ work experience in Corp Finance/Budgeting/Accounting. or:
- MBA, with an emphasis in Finance
