Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Senior Art Director/Set Designer is to create and design visually stunning sets and environments for live studio broadcasts, and other media productions. This position is responsible for ensuring the final product meets the desired vision and specifications, in collaboration with directors, producers, and other team members.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with Company and departmental policies, practices, and procedures. All Company Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and blueprints using AutoCAD, RevIt, or SketchUp; and be able to convert assets from 3D modeling software above for use and finishing in CAD software.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop visually stunning virtual and practical sets and environments for live broadcast, online, and other media productions.
• Ensure that all sets and environments meet safety regulations and are feasible to build.
• Perform job duties in a safe manner.
• Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies in the industry.
• Manage and supervise a team of set designers, artists, builders, and painters to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with other members of the creative team to develop and execute visual concepts for productions.
• Create and edit 3D models and renderings using Blender, 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, or Maya; and V-ray or Arnold.
• Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, RevIt, or SketchUp.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a team and working under tight deadlines with multiple projects.
• Proficiency in Blender, 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, or Maya; and renderers like V-ray or Arnold.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
• Strong portfolio showcasing set design and art direction skills.
• 5+ years of experience in set design, art direction or a related field.
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

• Lift or carry up to 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
• Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.
• Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work remotely as necessary.
• Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
