Job Description
Duties
  • Determines needs of individual children and provides services one to one or in small groups as deemed appropriate;
  • Maintains logs and ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress;
  • Determines needs of individual children within the classroom setting and provide services within the classroom as deemed appropriate;
  • Works in conjunction with Team to create Educational Plans for annual reviews and provides input for students who are involved with the three-year re-evaluation;
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Attendance at IEP, 504 or regular education meetings that involve students on caseload or when requested; and
  • Evaluates and screens students to assess speech and language abilities and needs;
  • Attends parent conferences whenever possible;
  • Determines and maintains programs based on goals set by IEP or Learning Plan;
  • Writes evaluation reports including all speech/language assessments and goals;
  • Maintains and adheres to a daily schedule of activities, writes progress reports, maintains clinical notes, and establishes annual goals for students either through their IEP, 504 Plan or a regular educational plan;
  • Serves as a consultant to classroom teachers as to how to better meet the communication needs of individual children within the group;
  • Works in conjunction with the classroom teacher to incorporate the speech/language program into the curriculum;
Qualifications
  • Experience working with school-aged children;
  • May consider BS/BA if supervision is provided.
  • MS/MA in Speech Pathology CC or CFY is required; and
