Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services to students individually or in small groups
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students' communication needs
• Assess and evaluate students' communication abilities and develop individualized treatment plans
• Address pragmatics, problem-solving, and speech-language deficits
• Support students in accessing academics through effective communication strategies
• Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and individualized education program (IEP) meetings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to develop a language-rich environment
• Provide speech-language interventions to students with significant communication disorders
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions and student progress

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively within a classroom setting
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in Illinois
• Experience working with students with significant communication disorders
• Strong knowledge of various communication disorders and therapeutic interventions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
