The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is seeking a devoted and passionate Educator in the field of Special Education. As a Corrections' Teacher, you will work as part of a dedicated team where collaboration, and communication are integral, instructing basic skills to incarcerated adults and youths age 21 and under, while earning a great salary with excellent benefits!

As a Special Education Teacher for the Department of Corrections, you will teach incarcerated adults and youths age 21 and under, within your assigned institution.
You will be responsible for establishing classroom rules and procedures to maintain an effective and safe learning environment. You will be developing individualized educational plans for students and preparing lesson plans specifying content and activities to be covered, sequence of instruction, materials needed, and standards for lesson accomplishment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment; 37.5 hours/week.
- Work hours are 7:45 am to 3:45 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
- This is a secondary diploma site.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Necessary Special Requirements:
- All positions require possession of a valid and active professional special education certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. When no candidates possess the named certification, the candidate must be eligible for an Emergency Permit issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education that is appropriate to the position.
- This is a Commonwealth Secondary Diploma facility. An employee assigned to a Commonwealth Secondary Diploma facility who was hired based on eligibility for an Emergency Permit must obtain a valid and active special education certification issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
