SOLAR PROJECT MANAGER POSITION
621 Energy is looking for a high impact individual to lead our growing efforts in implementing solar energy projects for our commercial and nonprofit customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, possess excellent communications skills, and be detail oriented. This full-time hybrid role is based at our West Concord, MA office.
Reporting to the Principal of 621 Energy, this position is responsible for managing the implementation of the company’s solar PV projects, primarily within Massachusetts. The Project Manager is responsible for developing a plan for the design, permitting and construction of our solar projects, and ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met throughout the life of the project. The Project Manager handles multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development and construction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Provide management and delivery of a high quality project within the intended scope, timeframe, budget, and client expectations
2.Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders including clients, program partners, financiers, town and utility officials, contractors and coworkers
3.Develop project plans- track and communicate progress
4.Prepare projects to be built including ordering materials, acquiring necessary permitting and interconnection approvals, and hiring sub-contractors
5.Manage internal project resources- provide project technical assistance, documentation, support, and collaboration
6.Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control and on time project delivery
7.Oversee construction of the project and coordinates all construction activities on site
8.Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes
9.Respond to issues that arise in a professional and timely manner
10.Assist in the evaluation of project performance and implement strategies to improve safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction
11.Conduct site surveys for new projects
DESIRED TRAITS/QUALIFICATIONS
1.4+ years Solar PV experience with increasing levels of responsibility including managing construction teams and resources on projects
2.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple project deliverables and foster positive business relationships
3.Highly proficient in technical aspects of commercial solar PV projects
4.Strong communication and organization skills
- Quick learner with sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and ability to solve problems
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service both internally and externally
7.Able to contribute to an inclusive, collaborative working environment and mentor less experienced team members
8.Team player who recognizes learning opportunities and can flex to fill different roles in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
9.Ability to be “hands on” as needed in the field
