Job Summary

The Software Quality Supervisor works within the PACCAR Embedded Engineering organization and is responsible for championing Automotive SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability Determination) implementation, requirements management, continuous improvement, and quality of embedded software. PACCAR Embedded Engineering is a rapidly expanding organization that is transforming the way software is developed for commercial vehicle applications. The team is co-located in both Texas and Washington so remote leadership will be essential. Individual creativity in addressing challenges and opportunities is encouraged while working within a supportive team to develop superior solutions for the heavy-duty truck industry.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead updates to software development process standards to incorporate current best practices in development techniques and tools
  • Work with Quality Engineers within the projects to coach and train on quality standards across projects
  • Supervise daily activities of team members, tracking and reporting progress against plans in support of quality and process improvement initiatives
  • Lead PACCAR North America input into PACCAR global Quality activities specified in Corporate Standards
  • Lead quality requirements, helping to prepare for audits and coordinate necessary tasks
  • Identify and track quality risks, coordinate escalation-level support for critical issues affecting program deliverables
  • Up to 10% travel, including international
  • Act as a subject matter expert and consultant on quality topics within PACCAR North American organizations to support and guide quality and process topics, help to problem solve


Qualifications

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent STEM field
    • 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance methods
    • Demonstrable experience in a leadership role or activities
    • Knowledge and/or experience in ISO15504 SPICE (Software Process Improvement Capability Determination) or other relatable quality management standard/framework
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and planning/tracking skills
    • Demonstrated success in managing multiple, technically complex, simultaneous projects while responding to dynamically shifting priorities
    • Willingness to grow continuously, both personally and professionally, and a strong orientation to reliability, value, and quality in all aspects of work
    • Work effectively with other technical leaders to influence other team roadmaps, drive consensus on approach/prioritization, and deliver quality software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment

The salary range for Software Quality Supervisor is $80,800 - $126,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
