Summary
The Software Quality Manager is responsible for delivering innovative software solutions that transform the building industry by managing a team of Software Quality Analysts who complete quality testing on complex software that MiTek develops.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other software quality leaders to provide consistent messaging and practices across the global software quality organization.
  • Act as Software Product Quality Owner over a specific application(s), this includes overall management of risk, regression planning, strategic improvement, and effective communication of information to other functional software leaders and stakeholders/customers. Be aware of, and report on all quality activities regardless of individual ownership (including Unit, functional, manual, automated, acceptance, beta, etc).
  • Continuously participate, guide, and refine elements of the team’s approach to software development activities and processes (e.g. agile, waterfall, etc.) to best meet team needs. This includes the development of project plans, coordination of projects, management of project team activities, communication of changes and progress, and ensuring projects are completed on time and budget.
  • Communicate changes and progress, provide technical leadership, and inspire a team to succeed; cascading information and promoting collaboration across teams and individuals.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, and other development teams to ensure that solutions are efficient, consistent and fulfill business needs. Interpret business requirements from stakeholders, tech support, and customers in order to articulate business and technical needs and drive the vision of projects and applications.
  • Act as a critical part of the decision-making group to assess risk of certain projects to determine appropriate timing and placement of development effort
  • Resolve or facilitate resolution of problems and evaluate recommendations relating to business opportunities and influence policy and process improvements.
  • Be a customer advocate within MiTek. Work and collaborate with our customers to help understand their software needs and quality concerns, communicate those needs internally.
  • Manage team of Software Quality Analysts, create and promote a positive, respectful and collaborative working environment that results in skilled and motivated employees; evaluate employee performance, set expectations and goals for the team and individual employees, recruit, discipline, and train staff.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality solutions for team’s assigned work. Provide guidance for the selection, approval, and acquisition of hardware, software, networking components, and services for internal use.
  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, debugging, deployment, and documentation of new or existing software to meet complex business needs.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in both technical and business terms
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and team members
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree from a College or University, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering
