Software Engineer - New Graduate

Position Summary
This is an on-site position located in Irvine, California.
The New Graduate Software Engineer will join our Software organization to develop new features of our next generation InFlight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite. As a Scrum team member, the Software Component Engineer will design and implement changes in the Android based client components and in the Linux based server components meeting the quality objectives. After delivery of each release, he/she will support the system integration and verification team, investigating and providing fixes to resolve remaining issues.
Key Areas of Responsibility

• Submit code for code review and participate in peer code reviews.
• Implement and integrate new features in our InFlight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) product suite.
• Participate in all phases of software development to extend the current Thales Linux Framework code, developing Android and Java applications.
• Work in an agile-driven (Scrum) environment.
• Work with automated testing tools/scripting for validation of implementation.
• Debug and fix problems found during testing activities and issues reported from the field.

Minimum Requirements

• Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background.
• Very good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts and design patterns.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience debugging on Linux and/or Android based systems.
• 0-4 years of work experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
• Experience in Java and/or Android development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python/Bash scripting is a plus.
• Experience in media streaming (rtsp, hls, dash).
• Experience with application/services in C++/Java programming in Android Framework.
• Experience in network protocols (tcp/udp/rtp).

The anticipated salary range for this role is $77,350.00 - $143,650.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
