About The Role
We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to become a member of our Cloud Automation Team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate should have broad knowledge and experience in software development, cloud infrastructure, and security principles.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop internal web applications
• Be a core contributor to the Cloud Automation Team portfolio of products and services
• Become a technical Subject-Matter-Expert while promoting a DevSecOps mindset across Alcority
• Define and document software engineering standards, frameworks, and tools

Requirements

• Understanding of HTTP and web application security (OWASP, CORS, TLS, etc.)
• Experience implementing modern web authentication (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, etc.)
• Quickly learn new technologies, methodologies, tools and processes.
• Deliver results within expected timelines with minimal oversight.
• Approach every situation with accountability and integrity.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to:
• Experience with shell scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
• Knowledge of front-end application technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.)
• Adapt to changes and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts (Static/Dynamic analysis, vuln scanning, etc.)
• Comprehend complex and complicated projects.
• Knowledge of API concepts and technologies (REST, SOAP, Swagger, etc.)
• Expertise is Git version control and familiar with the trade-offs between branching strategies
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• 5-7 years professional experience in software, systems, or infrastructure engineering.
• Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns and techniques
• Ability to write secure, reliable, and testable production quality code in one or more modern programming language (Python, Go, Rust, C#, Typescript, etc.)
• Effectively collaborate with others to achieve objectives and key results.
• Experience developing and deploying full-stack web applications

Nice to have:

• Understanding of AI concepts and their potential for real-world applications
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and templates (Azure DevOps, Github Actions, etc.)
• Familiarity with HPC (High Performance Computing) paradigms and low-latency development
• Direct experience building applications using Azure Active Directory as an auth provider
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Powershell DSC, etc.)
• Familiarity with Linux OS system administration (NixOS, Debian, RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.)
• Experience building and deploying containers (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Nomad, etc.)
• Experience with both public (Azure, AWS, etc) and private cloud (VMWare, OpenStack, Nutanix, etc) infrastructure architecture development and multi-tenancy environments a plus
