JOB SUMMARY FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• Fully remote, agile work environment with daily standups. 1-1 touchpoints
• Working with a team of about 10. Very engaged team, willing to help each other.
• As a Software Engineer you will contribute to design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and/or applications.
• Responsible for but not limited to sourcing and ingestion of data from base to canonical.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
• Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
• Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by management from time to time.
• Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls.
• Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
• Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
• Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• 8 years or more of software development experience or at least 5 years of experience with master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field is required.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• 5+ years exp AWS Experience particularly with S3, Glue and Fargate – must be listed in resume with how technologies were used.
• Batch or stream processing systems such as Apache Spark, Flink, Akka, Storm, preferred
• Datastores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Oracle, preferred
• Must demonstrate solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals like data structures and algorithms.
• Test driven development and behavior driven development, preferred
• Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc., preferred
• 5+ years exp with object oriented programming (Python)
• Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs
• 2+ years working within an Agile framework (ideally Scrum)
• Developing software applications using relational and Nosql databases, preferred
