Summary:


As a Software Engineer in PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) team, you will help design and build a robust platform to support PayPal’s existing cryptocurrency products, as well as drive innovation in digital assets and tokens. You will leverage your expertise and experience to design and build systems that further PayPal’s goal of bringing accessibility and utility to the world of digital assets.

Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) team’s mission is to create a more effective, inclusive, and accessible payment system, based on digital currencies and tokens and realize our vision to create a more efficient, effective, and inclusive way to perform commerce.


Your way to impact


In this role, you will help design and build mobile and web experiences for PayPal's crypto experience platform to support additional commerce and payment capabilities for crypto-native merchants. As a member of the crypto team, you’ll collaborate with cross functional teams; architects, product owners, designers, and other engineers to create innovative & scalable solutions serving millions of users. You will play a valuable role in development from concept to launch of payments newest technologies.


Your day to day


  • A passion for technology and for developing robust, scalable, state of the art software systems.
  • Partner closely with design & product to craft great product experiences.
  • Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing and production release.
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
  • Be a crafts(wo)man and encourage code crafts(wo)manship across team.
  • Create web applications following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, TDD.
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment.


What Do You Need To Bring


  • Real world experience with cross-browser compatibility, cross-platform, and design constraints on the web and mobile web.
  • Passionate about developing amazing user experiences.
  • Strong desire to learn, push the envelope, and share knowledge with others.
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms with good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with a version control system (GIT, SVN, CVS, etc.)

  • Experience with web applications (Node.js) and building middleware on top of RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with JavaScript application design, development, and testing experience.
  • Solid knowledge of popular JS frameworks and libraries including model-view-controller and Single-Page (SPA) (React & Redux (preferred), Backbone, Underscore, etc.) including concepts like ES6, asynchronous programming.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experienced in writing unit, functional and integration tests such as Jest and Cypress.
  • Experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap.
  • Strong desire to learn, to experiment, and to share knowledge with others.
