Role:

Splunk is looking for highly motivated, experienced Software Engineer to join our team. You will experience Splunking and what defines our culture while honing the skills that separate our development teams from others. Working to support internal and external customer needs, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our values-driven process. The Cloud Infrastructure team architects and builds auto-scaling platform solutions for hosting Splunk's enterprise software. The teams are fast-paced, high-velocity, using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Golang. The focus is always on automation, where we have a substantial AWS and Kubernetes presence of large-scale containerized systems. This is an incredible opportunity to grow your cloud experience using Golang and Kubernetes to help drive the growth of Splunk Cloud.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for

Building creative solutions that enable rapid development. You will get to work with a super smart bunch of folks who are doing innovative development work in areas of data analytics, infrastructure, and event correlations to build best-in-class business analytics software. You will be interacting with product management and customers to understand their detailed requirements. You will also work with other engineering teams across Splunk to design and build high-performance solutions.

• Innovate and contribute to the team’s platform roadmap.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Help identify, report on, and fix bugs discovered during testing or filed externally.
• Implement new features, test, and analyze the performance of existing and new features.
• Participate in regular code and implementation design reviews.
• Learn, propose, and implement new technologies.
• Contribute towards technical excellence with unit and integration testing, following CI/CD patterns, standard security processes, and performance analysis.

Requirements:

• Able to learn new technologies quickly.
• Proficient in object-oriented programming concepts, algorithms, data structure, large-scale software architecture, test development, networking, distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with tools and technologies like Git, Jenkins, Gitlab, AWS, Docker, and GCP is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages, including but not limited to Go, C++, Java, and Python.
• 3-5 years of experience developing software in a collaborative environment.
• You enjoy collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservices.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out below, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $136,000.00 - 187,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $124,000.00 - 170,500.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
