What You'll Do:


The Software Engineer’s primary purpose is to design, develop, modify, test and implement software programming for enhancements and new products while achieving high quality and on time delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanisms. The Software Engineer works with general supervision on medium level projects with latitude for independent judgment.


Design and Development


  • Assist with the creation of project estimates and designs for customization requests and product improvements
  • Works with remote staff and offshore resources
  • Analyze problems or software enhancements and provide suggestions for improvements to team
  • Create, document, and execute software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas
  • Perform defect verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of a single product modules/sub-systems or on moderate issues of multiple products
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team by recognizing areas for improvement and working with others to develop and document process improvements
  • Independently develops an understanding of potential problems with software.
  • Perform maintenance and enhancements on existing software products via coding, testing, and debugging
  • Participate in and assist in leading special projects as requested to gain additional product understanding


Qualifications


  • Hands on experience in web-based technologies
  • Experience working with agile methodology
  • Understand and have worked on complex products, solutions, and problems
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Widespread understanding of IT systems infrastructure and engineering practices
  • Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices
  • Working knowledge of systems and processes relevant to Software Engineering
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional team of business owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance
  • Identify quality components and contribute to test approach for multiple testing responsibilities (i.e. functions, load, automation, performance, etc.)
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working with remote peers
  • Ability to perform duties independently with general supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Related field, 2-5 years of experience in Software Engineering/Information Technology; Expereince 1:1 for education
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
