A 215-bed community hospital, NCBH specializes in women’s and children’s services. It also provides Behavioral Health acute and ambulatory care. Under general supervision, with some latitude for the exercise of independent judgment, in addition to performing the typical tasks described in Assignment Level I above with or without supervision based upon licensure and at a higher level, performs the following typical tasks:

  • Mentors and assists less experienced social work staff in social work techniques and serves as a resource in various aspects of advanced social work practice.
  • May supervise graduate and undergraduate social work students, as well as volunteers and other auxiliary personnel, as needed.
  • May assist in the provision of clinical services only under supervision of a New York State LCSW, licensed psychologist, or psychiatrist or perform such functions independently as a LCSW.

Minimum Qualifications


For Assignment to Level II
1. Valid license as an LMSW issued by the NYSED; or
2. Valid license as an LCSW issued by the NYSED.
