Mental Health Recovery Specialist

This behavioral health position earns a competitive salary of $43,000 - $52,000/year. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RECOVERY SPECIALIST


In this social service position, you provide skills training and case management to individuals who struggle with symptoms of their mental health diagnoses. Following evidence-based practices, you focus on helping individuals develop a recovery plan and coping skills. Because maintaining the ability to live in the community of their choice, that is always your priority.


You also assist clients with addressing other problems such as benefits access, educational goals, vocational goals, and more. Conscientiously, you monitor and evaluate each client's progress towards specific goals around activities of daily living, financial management, medication management, and behavioral health. Additionally, you help to provide skills for maintaining housing, employment, and harm reduction. Making a difference one life at a time fills you with a deep sense of satisfaction, which is why you're perfect in this social services role!


Qualifications For a Recovery Specialist


This social service position will meet one or more of the following requirements:


  • Certification as a qualified mental health associate through the Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon
  • Bachelor's degree in mental health, social services, or a related field, plus one year of experience relating to or assisting individuals with mental illness


Additionally, candidates are required to fulfill requirements set by the Laurel Hill Center, including:


  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening upon hire
  • Valid Oregon driver's license
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A RECOVERY SPECIALIST


This full-time behavioral health position typically works five 8-hour days, Monday - Friday. Hours are between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
