Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience in digital media
  • Exceptional writing and copyediting skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Deep knowledge of digital marketing measurement and metrics
  • Familiarity and aptitude in creating content in a variety of formats (video, image, gif, etc.) for an array of audiences, tailored by channel
  • 5+ years of experience running large-scale social media campaigns in a corporate or agency environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, including senior stakeholders, in a global virtual environment
What You'll Do
You will shape and execute on digital campaigns, advising senior McKinsey leaders and working closely with communications practitioners across the firm.
In this role, you will own the content strategy and calendar for McKinsey's flagship brand pages on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube - what to post, where to post, when to post and when and how to engage with audiences.
You will lead a small team of social media professionals and work closely with external agencies. You will also coach and mentor communications professionals outside of your team and help to build social media expertise across McKinsey.
You will use social media listening, monitoring, and metrics to inform content choices and to identify opportunities to engage with audiences. You will bring leadership to McKinsey’s employee advocacy program, encouraging colleagues to share relevant content.
You will innovate new franchises and content types, working with colleagues and creative agencies to bring ideas to life.
In addition, you will codify and communicate guidelines, playbooks and best practices. You will be an ambassador for social media excellence, using internal channels such as email and Slack to communicate proactively and create opportunities to present at global, regional and local team meetings.
Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our North America offices as part of our global Social Media team working closely with the rest of the communications function.
This Social Media team shapes strategy for reaching engaging with audiences on social media platforms, runs McKinsey's flagship brand social media pages, designs and executes paid social media campaigns, and guides the firm’s 40,000 employees on using social media in their professional lives.
You will collaborate with colleagues from a wide variety of teams including brand, publishing, talent branding and engagement, leadership visibility and reputation risk.
