Job Description
Which Bandmember are You?
The Shopify Frontend Theme Engineer will work closely with our creative team to develop and implement designs for artist stores and will ensure usability factors are applied consistently across all stores on a single set of underlying core technologies while giving each store a unique look and feel.

How You'll Rock the Role
  • Test deliverables against a user story’s acceptance tests.
  • Provide estimates to the required level of accuracy for stories and tasks.
  • Create functional prototypes within shortened timeframes.
  • Integrate with various eCommerce and consumer marketing platforms (CRM, AdTech, MarTech, Customer Service Tech).
  • Use cutting-edge UI/UX for our online stores to appeal to artists and their fans.
  • Write technical user stories and convert user stories into deliverables.
  • Create technical documentation for wireframes and flow diagrams.
  • Assess UX requirements from artists and creative team to design and develop frontend experience and components.
  • Comfortable working in a fluid, changing environment as creative challenges and priorities evolve
  • Proficiency in responsive design principles
  • Ability to write unit tests when implementing user stories and design and develop code for testability
  • Basic understanding of APIs, webhooks, and general data transfer approaches
  • Customer-first mentality with ability to empathize and create customer/fan loyalty
  • Strong proficiency in modern design patterns and development languages including JavaScript, CSS3/SCSS , HTML5, and Typescript
  • Solid grounding with common design patterns and development best practices
  • Strong drive to continue improving skills and to stay informed on the cutting edge of web technology and design
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and execute tasks with accuracy in a high-pressure, fast-paced agile environment
  • Solid understanding of general eCommerce and consumer marketing technologies and UI/UX best practices for those spaces

What We're Looking For
  • Cross-device/responsive design techniques
  • Responding to business objectives with creative, innovative design solutions
  • Javascript and Liquid (Shopify Plus experience preferred)
  • Experience working within an agile team
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Bonus Skills:
  • Tailwind
  • Creating sketches/wireframes, high-fidelity/in-browser mock-ups and everything in-between
  • Latest web trends and best practices for UX/UI design
  • Setting up continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) with tools like Jenkins, Github, and BitBucket Test Driven Development
  • Integrating with web services (REST, and GraphQL) and third-party libraries
  • NodeJS, ESLint and coding standards, Typescript
  • Modern front-end tools
  • 2 – 3 years in an agile environment (Scrum and/or Kanban)
  • 5+ years of work experience in design and development
  • Web fundamentals like HTML 5, and CSS3, Sass syntax
  • Experience in:
  • Figma/Adobe XD
  • Experience developing mobile applications
  • Knowledge of ecommerce and consumer marketing technology landscape and associated stacks (shopping cart, API integrations, social media platforms, etc.)
  • Understanding and applying principles of page optimization
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position:
$59.00/hour-$78.00/hour******Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
