What You Will Do

The Shopify Frontend Developer will be responsible for working with product managers, designers, and eCommerce managers to execute in-house projects on a wide variety of Shopify based initiatives. Some of these will be ground-up, while others will be advancing the functionality of existing projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with configuring Chomps.com for optimal technical, accessibility, and SEO performance.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to discover solutions and work to implement them with designers, brand managers, and other developers, always ensuring that we deliver high-quality & thoroughly tested features and updates.
• Jump in and level up Chomps.com by helping us ensure that it is always visually appealing, functional, and responsive.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for the Shopify development processes.
• Integrate Shopify third-party apps, scripts, and services to provide customers with a seamless shopping experience.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Shopify development.
• Closely adhere to and advance existing testing procedures to ensure the quality of development releases and updates.
• Troubleshooting issues and providing technical support for internal team members.

Who You Are

• Must have a proven history (ideally 3-5+ years) of Shopify theme development.
• Must be skilled with all associated frontend development technologies required: CSS (tailwind preferred) / HTML / JS / Version Control / Liquid theme development / CLI Based Workflows.
• Must have a good grasp of web page speed optimization best practices and techniques.
• A solid understanding of the Shopify App ecosystem, implementation processes, and the experience to know when not to use an app.

A history with the following are considered nice to have's (but don't sweat it if you don't feel like an expert in any of these as you will learn as you go!)

• VueJS or React experience
• Conversion Rate Optimization
• Analytics Analysis
• Shopify Plus experience
• CI/CD pipelines
• Accessibility focused coding
• MySQL
• Cloud Service Management (AWS / Google Cloud)
• Shopify Administration
• This is a remote position
