Safely and efficiently perform electrical labor to complete construction associated with building cruise ships and tug boats. Aggressive work ethic with a focus on production.
Essential Functions/Tasks
- Performs work on environmental regulating systems, pumps, and industrial lighting systems.
- Performs labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment
- Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Strips insulation from wire ends and attaches wires for subsequent soldering. Threads conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricates and secures conduits support brackets, using hand tools
- Grounding electrical systems
- Drills holes and pulls or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools
Required:
- Familiar with industry codes and regulations, and NEMA ratings
- Residential Experience and/or licensed journeymen with industrial experience (Electrician)
- Safe use of all tools and equipment
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and templates
- Graduate of a CTE program, or other trade schools (Helper)
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl at various heights and in confined spaces; occasionally required to sit; required to reach with hands and arms, use hands to feel, grip, or handle; regularly required to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; required use of vision to see up close, distance, and peripherally, as well as depth perception and ability to adjust focus in low light conditions. May be required to wear a respirator to safely perform assigned tasks.
Mental Requirements:
Must be able to carry out simple to complex instructions in a safe and efficient manner.

Working Conditions:
Repetitive, physical work. Regularly exposed to dusty conditions, extreme temperatures, high noise level, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, ambient weather conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, close proximity to other employees. Often works on scaffolds and ladders for periods of time. To avoid injury, safety clothing required along with safety devices to protect eyes, head, or hearing. Shift work and overtime involved most of the time. Travel seldom required.
