Job Description
PURPOSE: The Service Technician provides automotive services by performing inspections, repairs, maintenance, and installations efficiently, safely and according to quality and time standards and complies with dealership’s safety and environmental programs and practices. Automotive services may include, but are not limited to drive-ability, suspensions, alignments, steering, heating and air conditioning, basic and ABS brakes and exhaust systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the customer's vehicle.
  • Stays up-to-date on the latest technical services through training, bulletins, campaigns, etc.
  • Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
  • Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment;
  • Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor so the customer may be notified.
  • Ensures facility is clean and organized at all times.
  • Promotes a productive working relationship with others.
  • Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives.
  • Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.
  • Assists other technicians when needed.
  • Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use.
  • Maintains sufficient personally-owned tools; keeps tools in good working order.
  • Collects all necessary information before requesting parts (e.g., model year, etc.).
  • Follows safety rules and regulations including OSHA and hazardous waste regulations.
  • Notifies service advisor if delays are expected.
  • Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
  • Performs factory warranty repairs according to established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
  • Education, training and/or state/national certifications should clearly demonstrate the possession of the knowledge and skills stated above.
  • Ability to use computer and calculator.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors and other contacts.
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
HOURS OF WORK:
  • Saturday (work every 3rd) 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
