Server (Pt) Jobs

The Server is responsible for providing information to help members and guests with their food and beverage selections; presenting ordered choices, enhancing the quality of the Club’s service, serving in a professional and efficient manner, and ensuring members and guests have a memorable dining experience.

Job Duties

• Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc.
• Provide attentive service, focusing on members’ and guests’ needs.
• Verify accuracy of member/guest names, account numbers, prices, taxes, tips and other charges on all checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
• Advise supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Club standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the Club.
• Present dessert menus, suggest and serve dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks.
• Handle all member/guest charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
• Expedite the orders from the kitchen in a presentable and timely manner.
• Thank members and guests; invite them to return.
• Keep abreast of industry to include hot items and trends.
• Keep dining room and bus station areas clean. Clear, clean and re-set tables that have been vacated.
• Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions.
• Check back to ensure members and guest satisfaction; replenish water, butter and other condiments as necessary.
• Record members’ and guests’ selections. Ensure the correct account numbers and names are given for billing.
• Fill glasses with ice water, present menu, explain the chef’s specials, answer questions and offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections.
• Set up side station and perform assigned side (prep) work.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen and inform cooks about any special cooking instructions or knowledge of any food allergies.
• Consistently follow state and local laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down of banquet events.
• Attend staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) meetings and training as required.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
• Be knowledgeable of and comply, at all times, with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Greet all members and guests in a warm, friendly, service-oriented manner.
