Sergeant - Security –Rotating Shifts – NYP Westchester

At NewYork-Presbyterian, Security Officers do more than patrol facilities and campuses - they take part in amazing stories. When a patient was recently admitted with a severe illness, one Security Officer sensed the need for action. Maintaining his post, he repositioned himself in view of the patient's room. When the patient’s condition suddenly became critical, this Officer alerted clinicians for life-saving intervention. Each day, Security Officers at NewYork-Presbyterian serve and inspire with similar acts of service and integrity. Now, you can make it possible.

Protect patients, visitors, employees, and property across our medical and academic campuses, maintaining access control in assigned areas and responding to emergency situations. Help maintain lawful environment for lifesaving care.

In addition the Sergeant is responsible for the daily operations of the Security Department including but not limited to; scheduling, payroll, employee evaluations, employee corrective actions, incident report review, complaint investigation and follow up. The position will assume Security Officer post role when necessary.

This is a full time rotating shifts opportunity with every other weekend off at NYP Westchester located in Bronxville, right across from the Metro North Train Station.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree, at least two years of collegiate coursework in criminal justice or a related field, or previous military experience.

Required Criteria

• Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and Power Point required
• Security experience required
• NYS security license
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS)
• NYS unencumbered driver’s license
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
