Senior Transportation Project Engineer

Chamlin & Associates Inc. is seeking to hire an Experienced Transportation Project Engineer with 10 plus years’ experience in our Morris, Peru or Ottawa, IL office. Engineer will be responsible for performing engineering assignments that require initiative, creativity, knowledge, and application of engineering principles. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects for State, County, and Local Agencies. A knowledge of designing roadway and associated underground utility improvements with Microstation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D is preferred. Responsibilities:

• Ability to coordinate with local, State and Federal permitting
• Design of underground utilities
• Design of roadway, underground utilities, and various infrastructure
• Fully responsible for the preparation of detailed engineering plans and specifications utilizing IDOT and/or local County
• Conduct traffic, and various engineering
• Fully responsible for providing comprehensive civil engineering services for municipal, County and State

Requirements:

• 10 plus year of experience in the design of transportation projects
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs proficiently
• Bachelor’s degree in civil
• Experience permitting projects through IDOT, IEPA, IDNR and local
• Experience in storm water modeling and design a plus
• Understanding of civil engineering theories and principles
• AutoCAD/Microstation software knowledge a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional Engineering License (PE)
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize projects
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
