Role Summary
Responsible for driving sales revenues associated with execution services and trading. Clients will include investment management firms, banks, plan sponsors, other financial intermediaries, and end owners of capital. This person is a key part of the Russell Equity and Fixed Income trading team and contributes significantly to the trading, revenues and reputation of Russell.
Additionally, this Russell Associate will have responsibility for executing domestic and international equity transactions for numerous Investment Managers, Transition Events, Fundings, Overlay Programs, and Execution Services Clients. They will be trading on a regular basis and will be responsible for implementing advanced trading strategies that conform to Russell’s best execution guidelines. This position will operate with a great degree of autonomy and act as one of the leads in global execution and trading. This person will continue to develop our best execution through demonstrable pre-Trade and post-Trade analysis, our trading capabilities in terms of systems and execution venues, and our overall product offering to clients.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000

Specific compensation will be based on candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, commercial considerations, and other job-related factors permitted by law. At Russell Investments, salary is just one part of our compensation package. Our total rewards approach includes an annual performance bonus (subject to eligibility criteria) in addition to participation in our competitive benefits programs including healthcare, retirement, vacation, and wellbeing programs.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
  • Communicate with numerous investment managers/portfolio managers/clients and execute program and/or single stock equity transactions. Establish and maintain best practice procedures to ensure trading strategies conform to Russell’s best execution guidelines. Interface with a Portfolio Accounting Systems, Order Management Systems and operate trading technology that includes an advanced trade order management system and various market facing execution platforms.
  • Promotion and strategic activities: Participate in Russell trading strategic discussions and planning, product development ideas and take active role in market place and promotional marketing activity.
  • Drive the Russell Execution Services revenues globally. Drive a substantial increase in the number of Russell Execution Services clients and revenues. Drive revenue and client retention globally, including establishing quarterly objectives and resource planning. Work effectively with client relationship management peers, customer service coordinators and administrative support to deliver objectives.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with members of Russell Implementation Services, External Investment Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Market Participants to create informational efficiencies with regard to straight through processing requirements. Develop best practices that will provide for operational and trading scale within group.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable knowledge and experiences including the following:
  • Highly proficient with multiple PC software including securities-related applications (portfolio accounting, trade order management, trading platforms, FIX connectivity, DTC/SWIFT messaging)
  • Series 7, 55, 66 licenses – preferred
  • Driven self starter looking to take on new responsibilities in a challenging environment
  • 5-10 years of equity trading experience in the brokerage/trading industry
