Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to create, plan, and coordinate wellness activities. The role is responsible to maximize engagement with Abbott resources, facilitate behavior change, reduce health risks and improve well-being, and motivate positive lifestyle choices in our population.
Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate wellness activities and campaigns.
  • Lead and engage in various projects that support the Lake County Fitness Center, Sports and Activities and overall wellness.
  • Continuously collect, analyze, and interpret data and feedback in order to make actionable recommendations to programs.
  • Coordinate multi-functional wellness team to foster engagement in wellness resources.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Lake County Fitness Center and Sports and Activities including but not limited to enforcement of policies, procedures and standards, budgeting and proper account for services, managing the facility, and supervising staff.
  • Interacts with all Grade Levels and positions at Abbott.
  • Project manage programs, which includes developing, managing, and executing project plans, managing project resources and budgets, developing communication campaigns, and seeing projects through to completion.
  • Oversee vendors for multiple wellness programs.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree. degree in a health or fitness sciences field required. Individuals with additional accreditations signifying technical and operational expertise in one or more aspects of health promotion or fitness are preferred.
  • Masters degree an asset.
Experience/Background
Basic Qualifications:
  • Five to seven years experience in implementing health and wellness programs, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Able to market programs and resources that result in desired engagement and/or revenue.
  • Able to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team, with initiative and creativity. Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with internal partners and vendors.
  • Skilled at creating and developing presentations for senior leaders.
  • Able to solve problems, taking into account the customer, strategic and operational perspectives.
  • Able to multi-task and work in an environment with multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Two or more years in a fitness management position
  • Excellent marketing and communications skills
