Job Description
This candidate will oversee our Underwriting and Risk Management Departments and will be a hands-on leader who understands and creates the infrastructure to mitigate those risks.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company, such as sales, operations, technology, and finance, to ensure risk management strategies and underwriting processes align with the overall business objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to payment processing and risk management, such as PCI-DSS, KYC, AML, and other regulations.
  • Identify and measure objective data and key performance indicators (KPI) to maximize the impact of the team, and the performance of the portfolio of accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage the risks associated with the company's payment processing operations. This may involve identifying potential risks, assessing their impact, and developing steps to mitigate them.
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of transactions with enhanced risk profiles, including an escalated review of credit, financial reports, tax returns, and merchant processing statements to determine the best way to maximize opportunities while managing risk.
  • Lead the Underwriting and Risk teams providing guidance, training, and mentoring to help team members to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as payment service providers, banks, and regulatory agencies, to stay current on industry developments and best practices.
Skills For The Job
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an underwriting, credit, or risk role.
  • Knowledge of both consumer (B2C) and commercial (B2B) payments.
  • Experience in merchant underwriting and/or risk management with a merchant processor, payment facilitator, financial services firm, or other FinTech.
  • BS/BA degree (Finance, Business, or Economics) or combination of related work experience and education.
