Job Description
Overview

The Biomolecular X-ray Crystallography Center at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is recruiting a Senior Researcher. The Center is housed in the Department of Structural Biology and serves St. Jude researchers in all aspects of X-ray Crystallography.
You will be a team player in a world-class department and institution where your work and commitment to excellence matters.


We are seeking a detail-oriented team member to serve a central support role in the lab.


The Ideal candidate will be:
  • A team player that is eager to learn and contribute to a highly collaborative environment
  • Well-organized, follow and write SOPs and keep detailed records
The Center Director will provide hands-on training as needed. Prior experience in crystallography or biochemistry is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Perform crystallization, crystal optimization and crystal harvesting
  • Organize synchrotron trips including handling shipping dewars
  • Maintain crystallization equipment and ensure proper training of use for walk-up core users
  • Efficiently support laboratory operations for a smooth user experience

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required.

Minimum Experience
  • No experience is required with a Master's degree.
  • Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required.
