Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The majority of hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some evening and weekend hours possible. Position is eligible for benefits.

The Community Health Services (CHS) Division is seeking a Senior Public Health Nurse to join its leadership team. This position is in our Family Connects International Universal Home Visiting Program which aims to support to parents following the birth of a new child. Responsibilities of this position include coaching and reviewing the work of Public Health Nurse (PHN) home visitors who provide one to three home visits within the first three weeks of the birth of a new child, general team leading activities, and the provision of home visitation services to families as assigned.
Works under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, assisting with the planning, implementing, and evaluating of services to assure fidelity to the evidence-based model: Family Connects International. Developing and maintaining strong internal and community partnerships to achieve program reach and positive health outcomes is critical.
The ideal candidate would possess the ability to build resiliency within a team which is growing and adapting to multiple changes in the provision of health care. Excellent organization and communication skills, considerable knowledge of local agencies and organizations, and an overall understanding of local and national trends in public health are also needed.
Experience in the delivery of public health nursing services.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Qualifications: Graduation from a baccalaureate degree nursing program accredited by The National League for Nursing plus experience in the delivery of public health nursing services; or equivalent.
Necessary Special Requirements: Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Valid driver's license.


To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
