Job Description
City Experiences is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Shipyard operation in Bridgeport, CT.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.


About The Opportunity


This position has responsibility for leading the company to success in complex repair, renovation, or vessel conversion projects that are located at Hornblower’s Shipyard facility in Bridgeport, CT.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Evaluate project plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Organize and host all on-site and virtual construction meetings
  • Travel to project sites within the US and internationally as needed
  • Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors
  • Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout life cycle of the project
  • Create and maintain project schedule using Microsoft project
  • Evaluate progress and quality of work being performed by designer and contractors
  • Maintain professional relationships with all clients and contractors
  • Maintain contract execution tracking log, including change orders
  • Efficiently and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team
  • Track all labor costs, expenses, and project timelines, and evaluate progress and quality of work being performed by designer and contractors
  • Provide detailed construction status reports
  • Assist the Program Manager with drafts and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.
  • Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all project closeout documents are obtained and filed
  • Issue contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.
  • Plan, procure Owner Furnished Equipment, and provide customer representation for shipyard work periods. This task will require some travel
  • Control all project data throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Serve as lead Project Manager with tracking all labor costs, expenses, and project timelines.
  • Perform data and budget analysis and create reports as needed


Requirements & Qualifications


  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG, etc.)
  • PMP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • BS in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience is required. An advanced degree is preferred in a technical discipline associated with vessel construction or ship repair such as marine engineering.
  • Experience creating detailed construction schedules with project scheduling software
  • Understanding of aluminum, steel, wood, & fiberglass vessel design and construction
  • Experience in projects involved with FTA funding
  • Minimum of 15 years of previous shipyard experience with government projects
  • A familiarity with current passenger vessel regulations (i.e. USCG T & K boat regulations)
