Job Description
The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.


The Production Engineering function in Ultra ensures that manufacturing processes are optimized for safety and efficiency. It involves managing production teams, maintaining schedules, dealing with health, safety and environmental hazards and troubleshooting production line issues.


The role holder will be a technical or skilled individual providing support to others and contributing through application of technical expertise and knowledge gained through experience in clearly defined operations environments and formalized job-related training.

Required:


  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Green Belt
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering or equivalent studies and 2+ years of experience
  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.


Desired:


  • Significant experience and familiarity with manufacturing best practices (lean concepts, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, constraint analysis, etc.) and their application
  • Willing to travel<10%
  • Experience with electronic components, printed circuit boards and circuit card assemblies
  • Ideal candidate will have solder experience and be capable of inspecting for proper solder per IPC standards.
  • Must be a team player with good communication skills
  • Proficient at dimensional and tolerance analysis from part level through system level
  • Black Belt
  • Prior experience with plastic welding techniques (RF Welding, Sonic Welding, Heat Staking)
  • Must have strong computer skills and be especially proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge and experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data-driven analytics
  • Strong skills in design analysis and design for manufacturing
  • Must be willing to travel to various test sites and supplier locations.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent studies and 1+ years of experience
