Job Description
SUMMARY:


Candidate will provide engineering support for electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and processes, including the development, initiation and modification of processes for the production of new components. They will plan and coordinate the integration of new machinery and equipment into manufacturing processes, may including fabrication and testing of new machine components and tooling for the production of new products. As well as develop preventive maintenance programs for production and machinery, tooling and equipment and testing of processes and machinery to identify and resolve production problems and development and implementation or ergonomic improvements. Candidate should enjoy problem solving. Recommending solutions to Manager is a Must. This position will be heavily involved in working with automated equipment and systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide support and continuous improvement to existing manufacturing processes
  • Will provide engineering support for electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and processes, including the development, initiation and modification of processes for the production of new components
  • Will be required to occasionally work hands-on with production equipment
  • Create and maintain all process documentation
  • Research new technology: present new methods to improve manufacturing conditions
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs for production and machinery, tooling and equipment and testing of processes and machinery to identify and resolve production problems and development and implementation or ergonomic improvements
  • Other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • TPS System, Kaizens, Lean Manufacturing concepts a plus
  • Understand and interpret Engineering Specifications
  • Experience & Skills
  • Experience in a Process, Production or Manufacturing Engineering role (3-5+ years would be ideal)
  • Education
  • Experience with 2D & 3D CAD (able to design machines, tooling, gages, jigs and fixtures)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Process Design including Flowcharts, PFMEA, Time Studies and Line Balancing
  • This is a Hands-on type of position (knowledge of tools and toolroom equipment a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Experience in an Automotive-type environment (Japanese company would be ideal)
  • Experience with troubleshooting Production Equipment
  • Create Investment Plans for Capital Investments and explain to management
  • PLC/HMI Programming & Networking (Allen Bradley, Direct Soft ideal but any type preferred)
  • Experience with Automated Assembly or Assembly Processes and Equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of Vision Systems, Laser Marker, Barcode Readers a plus
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and components
