Job Description

Job Overview:

At Genea, Product Managers lead and motivate teams to develop products and features that customers will appreciate and enjoy while making a positive impact on Genea’s Business. They make use of data and research to inform their decisions and collaborate closely with product design and engineering to provide effective solutions for problems faced by real users in the workplace.

This role will be responsible for our Next-Gen Cloud-based Physical Access Control product and its roadmap. As a leader in public safety and enterprise security, we create and connect the technologies that help to keep people safe where they live, learn, work and play.

Our goal is to create teams that are motivated and knowledgeable, as we believe that the most exceptional solutions will come from the collective efforts of a group, rather than individual. As such you will be a leader, facilitator, orchestrator, and teammate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in establishing a product vision along with other stakeholders, including a 1-2 year product roadmap and a 3-4 year vision.
  • Translate vision and roadmap into detailed product requirements and own the user experience of our products and features
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement solutions that you will all take pride in. You will work with design and engineering to identify technical capabilities and define interaction and design options. You will work hand in hand with these teams throughout the implementation, ensuring goals are clear and facilitating decisions.
  • Talk to customers, aggregate feedback from internal customer-facing teams (sales, implementations, customer support), and evaluate customer usage metrics to determine and prioritize the things-to-be-done and problems to resolve
  • Set clear goals and KPIs for products or features, implement processes for ongoing tracking and learning, and drive product feature prioritization.
  • Nurture a culture where team members can do the best they can. Promote ownership and accountability, excellent communication, learning and teaching, good decision making and effort for very high standards.

You are:

  • Fast. You like the speed and impact you can make on our product and customers.
  • Accountable. You have a personal sense of responsibility. You proactively seek out problems and inefficiencies and produce solutions before they become major problems.
  • Experienced. You were (or still are) a part of small teams, ideally startups that have grown up and matured, where you owned various parts of the product, with a particular emphasis on user interfaces and user experience.
  • Thoughtful. Before considering potential solutions, you prioritize understanding the problem thoroughly. You actively seek input from a diverse range of sources in formulating solutions and delivering the features that customers love.
  • Gracious. You actively develop relationships with your teammates to better understand their work and establish partnerships with them.
  • Data-Driven. You have a passion for setting clear goals, metrics, and other ways to track success in solving customers’ problems once the solution is deployed.
  • Practical. An individual with exceptionally high expectations for the quality of our work, but you know that perfection is the enemy of goodness. You know how to find the delicate balance of greatness and deliver value to customers regularly.

You have:

  • An aptitude for meeting critical project milestones and the ability to effectively adjust timelines and accommodate customer requests while still ensuring timely delivery.
  • Programming experience is a plus
  • Experience in drafting clear requirements, refining the product vision, road-mapping features, overseeing implementation throughout the product lifecycle, and effectively managing the roll out of new features.
  • A background in collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional technology team including design, engineering, marketing, sales, and other key stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Demonstrable record of accomplishment in delivering and owning exceptional user experiences in B2B SaaS applications.
  • A minimum of 5+ years experience as a Product Manager in the B2B SaaS space
  • Great presentation, communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Blogging, teaching, mentoring is a plus
