Job Description
Your New Company
A Government department based in Midland, is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join the Procurement team. This department has available parking on site, as well as flexible working arrangements on offer. You will be required to work full-time hours, on an initial temporary basis paid on a competitive hourly rate. Ideally you will be able to commence immediately after a successful interview.
Your new role
As a Procurement Officer You Will Be Responsible For
  • Assist with adhoc tasks as required by the Procurement Manager and wider team
  • Monitor and understand emerging trends in procurement activities
  • Manage external contractors throughout procurement processes, providing advise and updates as required
  • Provide strategic advice to key stakeholders on procurement methods and processes that are in line with the departments policies and procedures
  • Development of contract briefs and preparation of procurement documentation for goods and services
  • Lead and assisting with the development and delivery of procurement projects internally
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will display previous Procurement or Contracts experience within a Government environment. In addition, you will display:
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with confidence providing advise to key stakeholders regarding procurement matters
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An understanding on Government policies and procedures
  • Strong team player attitude, with the initiative to work independently
