Senior Network Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:



Starting Pay Rate: $107,871 - $134,839/Annually, DOE

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the stable operation and growth of the Enterprise network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer is the primary subject matter expert for routing, switching, wireless, remote access, firewalls, and storage networks.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:



Primary Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Proactively performs operational management of all data center, campus, and remote network environments.
  • Repairs and recovers from network failures and communicates proactively with impacted departments.
  • Performs ongoing performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Monitors and optimizes deployed networks and proactively addresses problems.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for all data center and network components.
  • Plans, designs, implements, and documents highly available and secure networks.
  • Investigates and remediates all network-based problems and incidents.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of deployed networks and related maintenance, installation, and configuration procedures.
  • Interacts and negotiates with vendors, consultants, and contractors to procure networking services and products.
  • Provides Tier 3 network, firewall, and SAN support as requested to Systems Engineers and Systems Analysts.
  • Mentors and trains team members on procedures for network configuration.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Implements policies, procedures, and standards across the Enterprise network infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Cisco Network (CCNP) and/or Cisco Data Center (CCNA) certification required; CCNP preferred.
  • Working technical knowledge of current virtualization, network and storage systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Palo Alto Networks Next Generation Firewall Administration certification preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in Information Technology in an infrastructure domain.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
  • Extensive support experience with servers, networked applications, and remote access virtual private networks.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work and educational experience in an infrastructure domain.
  • Two years of experience building and supporting enterprise networks and their associated infrastructure.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is required to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information as needed.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/ or fingers.
  • The Team Member is required to work in a stationary position, move, and may be required to ascend/ descend, work atop, and traverse.
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Beyond 50 pounds, use of equipment is required. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
  • Team Member may use their senses to detect, distinguish, and or determine changes in their surroundings.
  • Team Member is required to have visual acuity (close, distant, peripheral, and depth perception) for navigating office and casino environments; reading and reviewing reports and policies; operating data processing equipment; and other essential job functions.
  • The Team Member is required to sit and use arms/ hands (or equivalent) to operate, activate, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and/ or position as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • If applicable to job duties, the Team Member may be exposed to human blood, bodily fluids or other potentially infectious substances. Exposure prevention training is provided prior to the start of employment, or within the first ten (10) days of employment. Hepatitis B vaccinations are available at no cost.
  • The Team Member is subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The Team Member is subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
