Senior Manager Supply Chain Management

Our client is in search of a talented Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management, to be responsible for sourcing a cost-effective supply of goods & services as well as managing all processes for contract development and lifecycle management. This role will plan, organize and manage the purchasing of raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and contract manufacturing services, as well as the supplier selection process, negotiations, value improvement, and contract administration.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategy for the procurement of pharmaceutical products, including active pharmaceutical ingredients, contract manufacturing services as well as other professional goods & services.
• In conjunction with Supply Chain Management, develop cost improvement and risk mitigation strategies for the current supplier network; identify alternate sources and cost of implementation.
• Achieve the best pricing, product quality, and supply continuity and mitigate risks.
• Manage the RFP/RFQ bid process of materials, supplies, and services for pharmaceuticals.
• Present findings & recommendations of complex issues to senior management for approval.
• Develop collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders in quality, product development, regulatory and finance to better understand long & short-term business plans & budgets.
• Establish processes for supplier bid award, contract development, and contract execution.
• Complete contract agreement renewals, amendments, extensions, close-out, and terminations.
• Support complex strategic projects, timelines, and procurement of capital equipment.
• Facilitate the contract development process and lead contract administration for key supplier relationships (Raw materials, CMOs, CROs, and warehousing/logistics).
• Communicate agreement commitments to all organizational stakeholders.
• Maintain good working relationships with suppliers, strategic partners, alliances, and other third parties to effectively maintain contractual commitments and obligations.

Qualifications

• Robust understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality & regulations
• Familiar with the manufacturing, quality, and regulatory requirements of sterile injectable pharmaceuticals.
• Collaborative team player who can also work independently
• Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in supply chain sourcing, procurement and contract administration.
• Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to deliver against both business expectations and goals.
• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, business finance, or related field; MBA and APICS Certification preferred.
• Ability to resolve conflicts, develop appropriate solutions to problems; develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with co-workers and suppliers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface appropriately with suppliers at all levels; strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines, maintain a flexible attitude in a changing and fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve planning, procurement, and supplier issues.
