Job Description

The Senior Manager of Procurement and Vendor Relations is responsible for working hand in hand with the executive team to secure multi-million-dollar procurement contracts and enhance relationships with suppliers, EPCs, and subcontractors across the county. We are seeking a motivated individual that has a strong attention to detail, good financial acumen and experience negotiating procurement contracts and construction agreements.


Job Duties include the following:

Establish and enhance relationships with Tier 1 solar module manufacturers, inverters, racking and major electrical equipment

Establish and enhance relationships with EPCs in various markets across the US

Conduct competitive RFPs with vendors and EPCs in order to secure the most competitive pricing possible

Compare EPC RFP responses and assess for out-of-market costs, technological variances, and ability to perform

Work with in-house counsel to negotiate major supply agreements for solar modules, inverters, racking and major electrical equipment

Lead and drive the ‘back to back’ negotiation of Customer:NEE and NEE:EPC contracts to enable realistic build schedules post financial closing

Responsible for maintaining closing timelines to successfully close contracts on schedule and on budget

Maintain knowledge of solar economic market trends, local market policies, general industry costs and key industry players

Organize and keep track of EPC pricing and vendor pricing in all active markets across the US

Be able to provide current market EPC prices for various regions in order to allow NEE to quickly assess profitability of potential acquisitions

Attend trade shows (5-6 per year)

Travel to meet with vendors and EPCs to build long lasting and mutually beneficial relationships

Support forecasting and project pricing activities

What You Need to be Successful

5+ years of experience working either in a solar or commercial electrician vendor relations/estimator role

Experience or understanding of all elements included in a turn-key EPC contract and ability to accurately compare & contrast RFP responses

Experience negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts

Experience in business development is a plus

College degree or technical related degree or 10+ years of experience

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Salesforce
