Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to provide HVAC & Plant Utilities Expertise in support of Global Engineering & Facilities (GEF) strategic assessments, global programs, and capital activities across the Global BMS Portfolio of Internal & External Operations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate HVAC & Plant Utilities standards and practices throughout the BMS Network collaborating with the Site Engineering, Facility & Operations teams
  • Liaison between Global Engineering and Global Quality in Quality programs that support cGxP compliance of Facility Utilities and Facility Shutdown and Restart
  • Liaison between Global Engineer and Environment, Occupational Health, Safety and Sustainability (EOHSS) organization to drive EOHSS standardization within Facility and Utilities design
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Global Engineering knowledge-based network with both internal and industry best practices and standards working across the organizations in a Community of Practice fashion with Subject Matter Experts (SME)
  • Support capital projects of over $5MM in support of HVAC, Mechanical, and Fire Protection design from Concept through Basis of Design in the development of innovative and technologically advanced facilities
  • Support Master Planning of HVAC and Facility Utilities for the Development and Commercial Manufacturing network
  • Business related travel is required; approximately 25% of the time with overnight absence required


Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively operation in both a team environment and in an individual contributor role
  • Experience with 3D model plant design software desirable
  • Strong background and understanding in the planning and execution of capital projects
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC & Plant Utility Engineering and Design
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision on the accomplishment of agreed upon goals and objectives
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize tasks, and to meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent planning, organizing, analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen, understanding of business needs, risks and regulatory implications in the development/assessment of design alternatives
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems and integration into HVAC and Utility systems
  • Technical experience with airflow diagrams, utility diagrams, instrumentation diagrams, HVAC system distribution, AHU zoning, and pressure differentials required
