At United, we have some of the best aircraft in the world. Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. The salary range for this position is $131,250.00 to $137,500.00 dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. This position is bonus eligible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains proactive communication and positive relations with maintenance team and customer group stakeholders
- Lead maintenance efficiency, technical training, employee dependability, team recognition and employee accountability programs in accordance with policy
- Handles safety mitigation program and leads investigations that support root cause analysis of accidents, injuries and incidences involving ground service equipment or team personnel
- Lead team performance and execution against all division and corporate maintenance objectives on fleets in excess of 4K assets. This includes maintenance customer (SLA) service level agreement compliance, maintenance cycle time, all in service level goals/tolerances, planned and preventative maintenance program compliance
- Lead efficient and effective team maintenance operations in a positive, productive and safe work environment for teams with 100+ Mechanics
- Responsible for the local (TCO) total cost of ownership and cost efficiency of local and regional maintenance operations in excess of 10M annual spend. This includes all financial and staff planning, accounting and the budgetary compliance of hub location and assigned region
- Lead safe and environmentally compliant maintenance operations
- Lead all safety/OSHA, environmental and training programs in accordance with corporate policy
- Leads accurate and effective customer reporting and communication programs while sustaining positive customer service and effectiveness ratings
- Lead maintenance team engagement and communication programs
- Establishes and maintains a collaborative and productive business relationship with local union representatives

What’s needed to succeed:
- Financial planning and management
- 2 years experience in a maintenance leadership role
- Experience Planning, leading or supervising ground equipment maintenance operations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Leading Union employee relations
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Technical degree or maintenance leadership work experience can be substituted
- 5% to 10% travel may be required
- Performance planning and management
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
